My sincere apologies if I have offended you, Imanol. Your pudency, on the other hand, is truly charming, coming as it does from a hardened revolutionary like you.
As for independence, personally, I have nothing against it if it is the result of a democratic decision in equal conditions for total freedom and personal security for those involved (for EVERYBODY, nationalists, non-nationalists, left, right, Muslim, Catholic, Buddhist or whatever). Which right now is far from being the case.
There was a time when Basque nationalism was the victim of horrific Spanish Francoist repression, and that gave it legitimacy and gained for it the sympathy and support of decent people all over the world. During the last few years, however, radical Basque nationalism has evolved from victim to executioner. And that has deprived it of all the sympathy and legitimacy it may have had in the past.
My very serious objections are, therefore, to the illegitimate use of violence and coercion, social mobbing if we may call it that. I have no personal interest in the oppression of anybody. And let me add that I could not care less for any type of ethnic or exclusivist nationalism, and that includes Spanish nationalism. In other words, I am neither a patriot (God forbid), much less a Spanish nationalist. To use a classical adage, "where freedom lives, there is my homeland". I have the most profound respect for the Basque language, and the Basque culture. But it is a fact the conditions of everyday life in the Basque Country right now for non-nationalists are those of innocent victims. It bothers me very much to see that people are unable to freely express their opinion without endangering their physical integrity. I insist, I have nothing against Basque independence. But never, never, never, under these totalitarian and undemocratic conditions.
As regards socialism, I think you are very naive if you believe that the Basque burgeoisie will let independence (if it ever comes) in the hands of "true socialists", as you probably claim to be. Are you proposing to establish a political system similar to that of Chaves in Venezuela? Or a dictatorship like that of Castro, in Cuba? Those are as horrific as Francoism.
If you look at the history of nationalism, it is an eminently burgeois product in its sociological sources, as well as reactionary in its combination of teluric allegiance and irrational emotion with politics (by the way, I am still waiting for your analysis of nationalism and universalism).
As for the links to youtube, they are truly charming, creative videos. May I suggest that among the images of torture in your videos you include a depiction of Miguel Angel Blanco on his knees, hands tied behind his back, while a brave and daring Basque gudari shots him on the back of his neck? That was a truly epic episode on the glorious Basque path to freedom and political independence.
I am happy to see that you are familiar with the work of Terry Eagleton (have you read his Ideology of the Aesthetic? a truly great book). I will share your videos with my democratic, tolerant friends from all over the world, and will tell them in detail about the history of M. A. Blanco and so many other victims of radical Basque nationalism.
Your efforts to present the Spanish state as torturer and oppressor flies in the face of the violent and reppressive practices of radical Basque nationalism. And that is not an opinion, my dear Imanol (can I say dear without offending you?). That is a fact.
First, the end of violence and the dissolution of ETA. Then, when social conditions become normal, and everybody (absolutely everybody, on the right and on the left, nationalists and non-nationalists) can freely express their opinions, you can have your debate on independence, and a legal referendum. And if the result is a big yes for independence, I will only be too happy to see the Basques become one more (free and democratic) nation like the rest of nations in Europe (and not like those banana-republic, third-world dictatorships of Chaves or Castro).

No sé exactamente cual viene a ser vuestra argumentación para reivindicar (entre otras cosas porque no sé Eusquera). Espero que no sea lo típico de los lemas "Estado Español - Estado opresor" y cosas por el estilo que desde la óptica de la gente que se considera de izquierdas y de algún modo puede estar más cercana a tener sintonía o tolerancia con los planteamientos que defiende vuestro partido, se perciben como materia agotada. Éste, a expensas de lo que ocurra el 9 de marzo, no es el gobierno autoritario de José María Aznar y por lo tanto muchas cosas ya caen por su propio peso.
Lo que ocurra ahora con los procesos judiciales abiertos contra el entorno "abertzale", creo que se escribe así, (que me disculpen los vascos si cometo errores ortográficos de su idioma, pero no lo domino en absoluto, siento mi ignorancia y espero que lo entiendan) más allá del oportunismo político del momento o de la conveniencia coyuntural, obedece a la respuesta violenta de parte de ETA y sectores radicales que violentan la convivencia. Se puede matizar, darle mil vueltas y adjetivar a gusto del comensal, pero no lleva a más.
Aquí nadie se chupa el dedo, todos tenemos claro que esa parte del entorno vasco quiere la independencia. ¿Acaso la Constitución Española niega esa posibilidad? Ni tampoco el ordenamiento jurídico, las leyes y tratados internacionales y demás bases legales que se le quieran aplicar. Es posible y entra dentro de la Democracia que eso pueda ocurrir, plantearse, defenderse, intentarlo, etc. Pero dentro de los medios democráticos, con atención a las normas y en rigor a la Ley. Fuera de eso, nada.
Esto no es la Dictadura de Franco (ni la Mayoría absoluta del PP que intenta meter en prisión al Presidente Autonómico por intentar convocar un Referéndum), va a ser que no. Actualmente tiene cabida esa opción, como las que postulan ERC, Bloque Galego, etc. Pero con las formas que indiqué anteriormente.
Otra cosa son los tiempos, las voluntades y las mayorías. Elementos necesarios para que avancen esas iniciativas. Imaz ya hizo referencia al camino que se puede seguir en este aspecto en su famoso artículo "No imponer, no impedir", ya sé que eso también os viene corto porque parece que el apresuramiento y las urgencias de unos son más importantes que la Historia y el sentir de los demás y me estoy refiriendo al pueblo vasco, no a Pan Hispania, que luego se me quejan los suspicaces.
Allá quienes quieran intentar otros caminos, todos sabemos que una cosa es lo que no se debe y otra lo que no se puede. Hacer lo que no se debe, implicar poder hacerlo pero hacerlo conlleva las consecuencias lógicas de quién actúa de forma indebida. Creo que es fácil comprender por donde voy. Se tardó casi cuatro décadas en obtener la Democracia, pero ésta es hoy más fuerte que las anteriores, necesitamos tres más para consolidarla y probablemente muchas más para lograr pulirla como un diamante, pero nos funciona y existe. Que se apliquen el cuento quienes creen que actuando como los "maquis" en versión indiscriminada e injustificable pueden alcanzar la cima. Esto no es vencer, sino dar carácter legal. No hay guerra sino fundamentos ideológicos, legales y humanos. Dicho queda.
